What if…

…there was a place that entertained, informed, amused, educated, gathered, inspired, connected, supported, played, housed, brought people together and contributed to the local economy?

This is the vision for the CVCAS Community Arts Centre—a world-class, regional community arts centre in Chemainus (or vicinity), serving the citizens and the economy of Chemainus, North Cowichan and the Cowichan Region.

Doing the homework...

We believe the Community Arts Centre is needed and will work! Many artists, tourism groups, management consultants, financial consultants and citizens have told us.

They have also told us we need to validate our belief through an independent Feasibility Study. The feasibility study will include a needs assessment and establish the optimum scope and size to ensure our Community Arts Centre succeeds. The study will also help identify potential sites.

We have already selected a world-class theatre development consultant, Rick Schick, Senior Consultant with RWDI Theatre Planning Design & Management group in Victoria, to do the study.

We are now in the process of securing the funds to do the study, You can help us move forward by making a pledge to support our Feasibility Study.

Who is the CVCAS?

The Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society has been fostering the Arts & Culture in CVRD (and beyond) for over 20 years.

In 2015, the CVCAS was designated by the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) as one of 5 sub-regional Arts Councils. CVCAS specifically serves Chemainus, Crofton, Maple Bay, Thetis Island, Saltair and CVRD Electoral Area G, although we have members from as far as Victoria and Bowser..

How can I make my own pledge?

A pledge is your promise to support our Feasibility Study with a specific donation later. We are not asking for money at this time…only your pledge to support us when we have enough funds to proceed with the Feasibility Study.

  2. Print out the form.
  3. Fill in the amount of your pledge and your preferred payment method (later). Provide your contact information and, finally, be sure to sign the form.
