Cindy Friesen-Ford Ashurst

November 25, 2022 Steph Allesia

Originally from rural Saskatchewan, Cindy now resides on Vancouver Island where she works in multi-media creating art in acrylic, oil and pastels, as well as stained glass, tile and mosaics on a variety of surfaces including canvas, paper, wood, tables, cabinetry, benches, lamps, stepping stones and jewelry. She has formal university training in painting, post graduate work in art therapy and practical training in glass, though practice has been her best teacher. Her subject matter is drawn from her love of family, photography, travel and experience translating into landscape, wildlife, and abstract art. Cindy’s work is colorful, vibrant and engaging. She is a current active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, whose work has been awarded and can be found in local and international online art galleries.

With respect to my glasswork, I was fortunate to inherit skills from my talented parents who pursued woodworking, quilting and art in their retirement. I started much earlier in life to explore different media and have been enthralled with stained glass and mosaics since 2003.

Several other pieces could be made available depending upon space. Many can be viewed on my website at www.artsyladystudio.com
